Empowering Children with Autism to reach their Full Potential

More children will be diagnosed with Autism this year than with AIDS, Diabetes and Cancer combined. Autism is the fastest-growing serious Developmental Disability in the United States.

About once every month in this country, a father of a child with Autism kills the child and then kills himself. These occurrences underscore the futility and absolute despair felt by parents when confronted by Autism. It also brings an agonizing focus on the urgency of providing education, training and care for the child and the family to combat this ‘theft of a mind.’

A Child with ASD (autistic spectrum disorder) has a normal life expectancy but if they and their significant others do not become involved in some form of intervention such as Special Education, Developmental Learning or behavioral training services they all risk developing hurtful and destructive behaviors that accompany the severe emotional problems associated with ASD.

Clearly, effective education, development learning and training can develop measurable levels of functioning in children with Autism.
